Vermont requires annual vehicle safety inspections. Since 1935 Vt started safety inspections and added emissions checking in 1997. Dons Auto Service has been a certified inspection station since 1979. From cars and trucks our certified technicians check many items on your vehicle.
Items that we check are the
Body for rusted panels or jagged edges.
Frame for rust, or bent components, glass.
Lighting, such as the headlights for proper aim and all are working tail lights, reverse lights, license plate lights, marker light and any other lighting the vehicle may have. The lighting lenses must be complete as well.
Tires are checked for tread amount as well as to look for any broken belts, or weather cracking that could cause a tire to have a blow out.
Brake system is checked for brake pads worn down, extremely rusted brake rotors and the amount of stopping power on the road test. Abs light must be off.
The steering and suspension components are checked for being loose or bent. When being road tested checking for any handling or excessive bouncing coming from the shocks and or struts.
The exhaust system we look for any leaks or missing components.
Emissions systems, check engine light must be off and will need to pass the state OBDII
Air bag lights can not be on.
